The Classic, White Kitchen
They say that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and at Sunday Home Designs we couldn’t agree more! Whether large or small, a kitchen is the meeting place for friends and family and should always reflect your style. In addition to being a beautiful space you are proud of, a kitchen also has many requirements to meet in functionality, especially in a busy household such as this one! We are thrilled with the way this classic, white kitchen turned out!! Don’t miss the drastic before and afters!!
We started with a run of the mill 1980s oak wood kitchen with laminate countertops and dated appliances. Nothing about this kitchen expressed our clean lined, classic style! It was missing so much in functionality, which we were able to add with larger cabinets, beautiful lighting, and professional Viking appliances. Our vision was a white kitchen with classic, clean lines which we worked upon to create this beauty! I don’t know what we like more, the beautiful glass cabinets and range hood or the striking Carrara marble countertops!
For this project, we enjoyed working with two local companies for the cabinets and marble countertops, which turned out amazing! The design was tweaked slightly as we went along, which is always a fun part of the process. Initially we were unsure how we wanted the island to function, as we knew we had many seating areas adjacent to the kitchen. We were able to add a built in microwave and surrounding drawers which adds so much function to the workspace, and finished it off with gorgeous furniture end legs for a beautiful touch. The large Carrara marble countertop on the island is truly a showstopper.
