Dream Home Office Reveal
/Imagine how productive you could be in a home office that inspires and motivates you! So many times home offices get filled with the clutter of life and are seen as the last room of the house to give attention to, but with some focus and good effort it is possible to create a beautiful space that you truly enjoy going to, even during the most stressful work day!
This home office/library was previously a totally unused area of the house. The gorgeous architecture and potential were always there, but were overpowered by LOTS and LOTS of orange oak, dust, and dark shutters! After scouring many inspiration office images we decided that these orange paneled walls had to be painted and fell in love with the dream of a crisp and clean white office! I knew that I wanted navy, wood tones, and brass to help warm up the white walls, and because….well every room deserves a little bit of navy! We are beyond thrilled with the outcome and so glad that we took the leap to paint these dated walls! Check out this before and after, it doesn’t even feel like the same home!!
One of the many amazing features of this library is the wood burning fireplace, the marble surround was left intact and the wood sanded and stained a more natural wood tone to complement the free standing desk. Speaking of the desk, you’ll be surprised to find out that it is actually a dining table from one our favs, Pier1! We realized that it worked perfectly to fill this large space! Although it looks quite tidy at the moment, I can attest that it can be scattered with an impressive amount of papers!! What we all need, right?!
Ahh these doors!! The most important finishing touch to this room was the completion of the french doors! The dark charcoal paint, paired with the warm brass knobs creates such a stunning entrance! I’m not sure we have a picture of the hardware that it replaced, but think 80’s, globe, and shiny gold! Replacing the knobs is such an easy and quick way to make a statement in your house and feels like such a luxurious touch every time you walk in! We even decided to carry this look into another room of the house by painting another set of french doors with matching knobs in the living room!
The gorgeous final outcome of this project is so satisfying! Thise office has become a place of productivity and beauty in what was before unused square footage in this house. I can’t reiterate enough how exciting and rewarding it can be when you take those unused rooms and create purpose in your home!
